  • I was not able to get classes according to my schedule.I was not able to select more than 2 classes in a day. I used to work along with my studies but unfortunately I got to take a class on Saturday which was not at all I wanted.

My experience at Humber college was beyond my expectations. I made a lot of good friends and I was blesses with the best teachers who helped me overall in my personal growth and development. You can email the teachers anytime and they will reach to solve your query in the best of their time. My teachers also told me that feel free to reach me even after the course is completed.

A life learning experience. This college teaches you time management. People here are from all over the world. So there’s diversity. I'm in my last semester and I think I would miss this college very much. It has some excellent professors who are established lawyers and judges. College has a swimming pool, gym, basketball court. It has a huge library. Recently Barrett family foundation donated 40million dollars to Humber college which would make its infrastructure and faculty more advanced.

Humber has exceeded my expectations in terms of everything. I'm more than satisfied with the curriculum, the faculty, the infrastructure and the extra-curricular activities. Because of its high education standards, it definitely requires students to work harder than ever and stay at the top of their game.

  • Dislikes:
  • The lack of help and support to get a co-op opportunity. Despite getting a co-op offer, the college coordinator would keep saying no because it didn’t fit the criteria she had in mind.

Humber is a very reputed college and the program seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. They also had a co-op opportunity which made me choose this program because having Canadian work experience definitely helps when you’re looking for a full time role. I did the entire admission process on my own. My experience was good. Some of the professors were really nice and helpful. The campus was not the biggest one out there but since it was located downtown, it was very easy to get there and there are great networking opportunities in the area. The placement was unpaid which is a total bummer so that is something the college should definitely work on.

Fees:

The program wasn’t very affordable but as compared to a lot of other colleges, the fee seemed fine. I got a part time job after coming here so I was easily able to manage my rent and other living expenses since I had paid the full fee amount before coming to Canada.

  • Dislikes:
  • Cost of living is bit higher. Students need to share the apartment to pay the rent.,
  • Indian students will face abit to difficulty to adapt to the new food and environment. Indian student will miss their food.

To get into this college one should have scored an average score of 70% in their previous degree and should have an IELTS score of 6.5 and above. One should be proficient in English speaking and writing. To prepare for admission I took IELTS coaching from unacademy. I constantly kept an eye on scholarship programs.

Fees:

The average fee was 16,606/ year. When it comes to offering a more condensed and practical diploma degree in Canada, Humber is among the best in the world, and Indians adore the college because of its friendly Indian community and accessibility. While I was looking for colleges, their programming programme truly attracted my attention because the expertise it offers was exactly what I was seeking. It is really affordable for Indian students.

My main reason for choosing Humber College was the SCM program. This program had the best curriculum among the ones I surveyed. Its main specialty is that you get hand on experience with SAP which is an ERP that is used by many top organizations.

17,060 CAD is the program fee.

Ques. Which one is better for studying in Canada? York University or Humber college? (take into consideration Humber college is a lot cheaper in tuition fees)

● Top Answer By Peter McDonald on 13 Jan 21

Ans. As both are good colleges, there is no right answer to this question. Humber College ranks #20 and is among the Top 50 Research Colleges in Canada. It is also a lot cheaper if you compare a Humbler diploma and a York degree. If you are comparing equivalent credentials, there might not be a difference at all. A quick check online shows York's domestic undergrad fee to be $7,743. At Humber, a degree is $7,737.84. So tuition wise, there is not too much difference. Humber College also provides 28 undergraduate courses whereas York university has a staggering 106. No. Of scholarships provided by Humber and York is 25 and 27 respectively. As far as degrees are concerned, York would be better known as a degree-granting institution. However, others might value the more practical content of a degree from a community college (technically, Humber is now an Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, but few people know that and still fewer could explain the significance). Here’s a factual comparison between the two: Content Humber College York University Average Attendance Cost $12,924 $24,312 Acceptance Rate 28.4% 50.5% Student Faculty Ratio 98:1 37:1 Exam Score(MIN) IELTS-6 PTE-60 TOEFL-84 GMAT-550 IELTS-6.5 TOEFL-80 Other factors would include the actual program to be studied (perhaps one is better than the other), the locations of the campuses, activities on campus, housing, etc. After weighing all the pros and cons the student has to make the final decision. Keeping in mind your goals and what you want from your future you have to choose carefully and make the best of the option you choose.Read more
